About Us

    The Eastern Upper Peninsula Employment and Training Consortium is better known as Michigan Works! The three eastern counties of Michigan’s beautiful upper peninsula have a long history of working together to provide employment and training, education and community corrections programs and services to their residents. Most of the funding comes through federal or state grants administered by the Workforce Development Agency, State of Michigan. The Administrative Staff are housed in the full-service center located in Sault Ste. Marie.

Workforce Development Board
The E.U.P. Workforce Development Board, along with local elected officials, is responsible for overseeing the local Michigan Works! System. Led by local business representatives, this board is actively involved in program planning, contracting and promotion of career development activities.

Administrative Board
Also an important partner in career development is the Consortium’s Administrative Board. The Administrative Board appoints the members of the Workforce Development Board, employs the administrative staff, and approves the Michigan Works! Agency’s plans. It consists of two county commissioners from each of the three member counties.
