The Eastern Upper Peninsula Employment and Training Consortium is better known as Michigan Works! The three eastern counties of Michigan's beautiful upper peninsula have a long history of working together to provide employment and training, education and community corrections programs and services to their residents. Michigan Works! Agencies are the cornerstones of Michigan's No Worker Left Behind Initiative, helping to train thousands of workers fo rdemand occupations. Visit www.michigan.gov/nwlb. Most of the funding comes through federal or state grants administered by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth. | To assist with the planning and implementation of the Career Preparation System, the Workforce Development Board appointed an Education Advisory Group comprised of educators, employers and parents. This group plays an important role in directing resources to enhance the overall career development system of the region. |

Also an important partner in career development is the Consortium's Administrative Board. The Administrative Board appoints the members of the Workforce Development Board, employs the administrative staff, and approves the Michigan Works! Agency's plans. It consists of two county commissioners from each of the three member counties. |
